Our students in Poland
19.12.007
Yesterday after getting next certificate from polish embassy our students crossed India’s border without any obstacles and after long self-reliant journey today arrived to Poland.
This time the journey proceeded without disturbance and together with Sita I welcomed Sarswati and Manoj in Okęcie airport.
All three of them are very happy.
Although theirs new home needs some equipments and theirs bodies have to adapt to polish cold weather (luckily the weather is quite mild) they are joyful and fully engaged to the task in front of them.

Unforeseen difficulties
17.12.2007
Last night Sarswati and Manoj might start theirs journey to Poland.
But they could not,
out of new passports,
valid visas and plenty of certificates carried along they have stopped by Indian immigration office.
Hanna G.
coming back after her a month-long visit in Jeevodaya wanted to company them but she had to enter the aircraft due to the end of her Indian visa validity.
Luckily our friends from Delhi have took care over Sarswati and Manoj.
Tomorrow they will try to solve the problem with help of polish embassy people.
If theirs efforts will be successfully really knows God only… In His hands is whole the study in Poland project and we believe that He will show a proper way to realize it.

Dr Helena went back to India and the nearest days will be a test of independence of her charge.
Sita participates in intensive polish course since 2 weeks,

Meetings with young people
08.11.2007
Last days dr Helena Pyz had meetings with youth.
Students of 23rd Gimnasium of Warsaw knew her till now from internet only but they have submitted to the Autorities of Smiling Medal to honor her by it.
They had a chance to listen the stories of Jeevodaya’s life and work and put to her all questions which bother them.
Students of United Intergration Schools of Edmund Bojanowski in Warsaw wanted to participate in Adoption by Heart and to know the most possible about children in the Centre.
Very unique was the meeting prepared on KUL by Catholic Youth Centre in Lublin.
Youth and theirs priests honored dr Helena Pyz as “Guide through life” writing in the motivation letter eg.: “For young people almost all tracks [of life] are impassable (…) This cause specially important for us are the people who can be a guide through life.
The people who by theirs attitude and work give us a key to understand the world,
to mark out the tracks how concrete day by day realize the most important values”.
Whole record of dr Helena’s speech and report of the meeting in Lublin you can find on website http://www.duch.lublin.pl/ (AS)

At Jasna Gora
29.10.2007
On 27th and 28th of October at Jasna Gora took place III Pilgrimage of Jeevodaya’s Benefactors (Helpers).
There were ab.
100 paticipants including dr Helena Pyz and Sita Nishad from India.
After the Holy Eucharist in Our Lady of Czestochaw we had listened fr Andrzej Galka’s lecture what it means to be a Christ’s disciple and memoirs’ of the people who had an opportunity to visit Jeevodaya Centre.
One of the most emotional moment was Sita’s testimony what means Jeevodaya in her life.
At night we participated in the vigil in front of Our Lady’s Picture together with other groups.
Our part of prayer was filled by Rosary in missions intentions and particularly for Jeevodaya,
we tried to pray in hindi our charges’ languange.
On the second day we had Holy Eucharist in the Primate of Millenium Memorial House with talk by fr Stanislaw Jarosz showing us very suggestivly how to be a christian one.
After dr Helena’s report of Jeevodaya we had an opportunity to put some questions and share own reflections.
These two days spirituality enriched everyone,
gave the occasion to know some more about the place which we try to help to.
It was also the opportunity to establish or renew relations to make us more aware that we are one family od Jeevodaya’s Helpers.

Dr Helena and Sita in Poland
25.10.2007
Since few days dr Helena and Sita are in Poland.
The trip was according the plan,
but not without of long wonder of our imigration officers if so small,
young Indian girl can be danger for Europian Union.
Poland welcomed Sita with rather cold weather although our hearts for her are really hot.
Within first days she overcomd several kinds of barriers like different style of cloths,
food,
languange which use all people around – these are samples only of common defferences here.
It is good that she met some people well known from Jeevodaya,
to others she will accustom soon… (AS)

Sita Helena
11.10.2007
It’s already known that together with dr Helena Pyz to Poland will come only one student – Sita Nishad.
Sita-Helena from childhood under care of dr Helena has have a passport,
polish visa and air-ticket – all essentials to the first in her life so long journey.
Her friends Sarswati and Manoj still didn’t get passports.
Passport Office in Bhopal demanded extra birth certificates authenticated by the court.
It looks impossible but they are not existing in any records although they completed high school.
They are 18 years old only – extra certificates are neccesary.
Cannot know how long it will last but as soon as they will get it we will try to complete formalities and joint the group that they would start theirs study.

Scoutmaster Rys
8.10.2007
Today mornig fr prelate Zdzislaw Peszkowski,
chaplain of Katyn Families and Murdered in the East passed away.
Fr Peszkowski wasn’t in Jeevodaya ever but India was very dear to him always.
When he escaped from a death execution in Katyn with a small group of officers he joined Gen.
Anders’ Army and started african campaign.
Very soon it became clear that his scouting experience and educational talents are invaluable because thousands of children mainly orphans went out together with Army from Soviet Union.
British India was one of the country which hospitable admited four and half thousand of polish little drifters.
There to Valivade campus was refered young officer and scoutmaster “Rys” and he came to love this nice country.
Each visit of dr Helena from India or somebodies from Secretariat there was a big joy for him and a reason to brotherly support.

Many different affairs…
01.10.2007
In the last days again a silent remains in website but no without reason like surly knows every patient one.
First of all permanent troubles with internet connection won me for a couple of days,
but were not so heavy.
I was not aware of limit the pre-paid time on the net.
Another our visit in Kutela was a little shock for dr Louise,
polish volunteer,
as well as his travel to Culcutta and Puri.
Undoubtedly we have to be accustomed to go by car on the “national highway” full of holes like after war or not enough comfortable trains.
And to admit more that 240 patients during the day is almost nothing for my resourceful team,
but for polish doctor is out of imagination.
Dr Louise checked up almost all our children in the Centre during his month long work and yesterday went back to Poland.
We had 2 days log visit of Mr Michal Zakowski from III Programme of Polish Radio.
It was very nice visit for us and hope also usefull for listeners.
It would be in Wednesday (3.10) during a whole day.
In a near time I will pack myself for short holidays in fatherland.
I have to finish all started works.

Fight is needed...
15.09.2007
Some of you surly knows that in the country where I live more than 18 years the official matters are very difficult.
Overextended bureaucracy makes life very hard and many troubles we meet constantly.
At present we fight for passports of three our students.
It is first and necessary step to come,
live and study in Poland.
It would appear that to hand all documents and pay the fee should be enough and in a proper time passports will come to the hands of Sita,
Sarswati and Manoj.
We started the work on the bigining of May and just last week Sita has got the passport at the office in Bhopal where all three of them went and waited 3 days.
For these two more students it will last few days more.
They have to get some extra documents than go again to the capital city of Madhya Pradesh.
I like to help them in theirs first such difficult journey and take them along with me for my short visit in Poland.
We try to do everything to make it in time.
It’s only a month for all formalities: invitations,
insurance,
tickets and visas – time is short.
I hope that it will be.

I am behind with sending messages
26.08.2007
Since almost 3 weeks I didn’t write anything on website so our permanent visitors can feel dashed.
The time is running speedily,
a lot of happens,
but when I realize that is somting important and is worthy to discrabe suddenly finished and comes something new,
more important…
This year we celebrated 60th anniversary of Independence of India.
Around the country it was celebrated many days,
here as usually on August 15th with rich artistic and patriotic programm prepered by students and teachers.
The next day two Polish women working here from an end of June left the place.
They visited Puri and after they met the manager of Jeevodaya’s school Mr Randhis Kujur in Delhi; they travelled to Poland together.
Today is a 5th day of Randhis’ visit in Poland.
On Thursday and Friday (just 24 hours) I had here 16 people from France.
One young man knows English,
rest could speak Polish.
It was very nice to meet such interesting group of youth; they asked me so many questions in every place and every free time.
They left earlier than planned because theirs particular train was cancelled due to demolished a bridge on the way Calcutta - Bombay since more than a week.
.
Today from early morning we pray for Poland and specially for Istitute of Cardinal Wyszynski of its patronal feast.
Tomorrow we will have here Mothers’ Day (St.
Monica,
mothers’ patroness); on Tuesday will be Rakhi means the day when girls and women remind own brathers a brotherhood.
For this occasion some students studing outside came here,
in Jeevodaya is busting and crowded.

A new expirience
06.08.2007
Fr Rahul who worked in Jeevodaya last scholar year had an interesting initiative.
He invited me to tell something about a vocation to the young men ready to join Pallotines during theirs recollection day.
I thought to share with them my own expirience.
The Lord called me many times very clearly to realize His plan,
He showed me the way.
On the place I realize that they expect 2 lectures.
On Saturday evening I told about a basic vocation of everyone to realize the gift of our humanity and responsibility “to be a Christian” specialy here,
in India.
On Sunday morning I touched a theme of specific vocation to take a profession,
a role in the societies,
a commitment of chosen kind of life.
I only touched because it has to be fullfield by each of us.
It was new interesting expirience for me.
Those young boys prayed so ardently,
they are very simple but disciplined,
polite,
attentive – I have seen joy,
peace and happiness in their eyes.
I write about it that you will think for a future of
Catholic Church meant a young men being under preparation for priesthood in India also.

Sneha is better
22.07.2007
Permanent visitors of our website know Sneha from a few informations.
The little girl has been brought to the Centre from neighbourhood with a huge hematoma on the head,
her bones of the skull has been damaged.
After first hospitalization we only waited that a hematoma has to be absorb and we carfully observed her progress to estimate a level of damage of brain.
Her progress was very good and after temporary unfit left hand there was no any neurological symptoms.
When she started to walk without any help she fell down and hitted a place where the bones are not protected a brain totaly.
After some tests we understand that corrective operation is necessary because there is a cyst in dura which disturbs the bones to close the hole.
We waited for lower temperature and on July 13th Sneha was admitted to the hospital.
Operation by dr Ajay was on July 16th; it was lasting over 3 hours and was technicaly difficult.
Till yesterday Sneha was under intensive care,
full time sleepy,
had a bit of fever,
vomits,
but from today morning is much better.
We hope that she will be discharge in good condition in the begining of this week.
There are two women taking care full time over her; they are very tired but refused to be replace.
Sneha got the name Maria Magdalena on the Bapism so today is her feast day.
Kindly keep the Little Girl in your prayers.

Most of our students came back to continue education,
still we are waiting for 2 or 3 which were sick during the holidays.
We installed 7 students of 11 and 12 standard in Kutela boarding and 4 girls started nursing school in Bhilai.
Others of our youth started class 11 in the schools around the Centre with our help as books,
copies,
school dresses,

followed by programm in the school hall.
Fr Abraham nominated fr Basil as a new Principal of the school.
He have come back to us after completing his study demanded to get such post.

Pain and gratitude
04.07.2007
A little ABHYAKUMARI has a very little place on our earth,
but by whole her soul praises the Lord.
She has been brought to Jeevodaya 6 days back from nereby village Nayakbandha.
She was very small,
weighted no more than 1½ kg only.
We surround her with care and love.
By whole hearts we wanted she would be with us.
But God decided something differently.
Yesterday evening the little heart stopped.
Just before I baptised her giving my the best service.
Today we prepered small box decorated by colourful paper,
white clothe used as a shroud,
some jasmine flowers were on the top.
Santosh (whose first daughter died just after has been born) brought the body to the cemetery; own daughter he had never seen,
not patricipated in her funeral.
The celebration was done by fr Basil,
there were 3 girls from childrens’ room and Sita,
who had been taking care of the child,
Dukalhin,
Brigit,
Soshan,
Martin and 4 Polish women.
Ayjub and 2 coolies helped us to close the grave,
I put first three pieces of soil myself.
Our hearts are painful and grateful for the TREASURE entrusted to us for a very short time – which will remain for ever among those who look to Haevenly Father’s face and plead to God for us.

A SUMMER
11.6.2007
in Jeevodaya means very high temperatures (this year wasn’t the highest one,
till 44°C only),
an emptiness and a silence.
For this period here remain children who have nobody and those whom I will keep for a health reason.
But we have a good time for ourselves.
After morning duties and watering the garden we are free to do nothing but only inside of buildings under the fans.
Children likes to watch tv,
they have some good movies on CD’s,
some team games,
but I like to be with them,
although cannot play on good level.
We have time and possibilities of some trip also,
into two vehicles we can take all of our children together.
Today we will go to solar park where are many interesting devices working on solar batteries and in the evening in darkness will be show of “dancing fountains”.
It is a last moment for that because rain season is nearby.
Two weeks after we expect our students and new children as well.
